A United States based investment and logistics expert, Seun Osikoya, has declared that his desire to represent Ijebu Central Federal constituency at the House of Representatives come 2023 is being driven by his people who are clamouring for a more fruitful and rewarding representation at the Green Chamber.

Osikoya, an indigine of Ijebu-Ode, who gave the declaration in a chat with our correspondent revealed that a lot needed to be done to speed up the development of the three local governments of Ijebu Ode, Ijebu North-East and Odogbolu which make up the federal constituency.

He explained that his aspiration is hinged on bringing about the much expected turn-around of Ijebu land.

Speaking further his House of Representatives ambition, the Covenant University graduate of Policy and Strategic Studies, said: "Let me first confirm that due to the call from my good people of this three local governments of Ijebu-Ode, Ijebu North-East and Odogbolu, I have decided to heed their calls and offer to represent them at the House of Representatives, Abuja come 2023, by God's grace.
"This is definitely going to be on the platform of our great party, APC. We have been consulting with leaders and other opinion moulders across the three local governments and the response has been quite massive and encouraging. They have seen in me the passion, the exposure and the capability to make a huge difference in this federal constituency and they have all pledged their support.
"They knew that yes, I may be shuttling between Nigeria and the US to attend to my business, but I have always identified with the people sharing in their pains and disappointment. So, it is an ambition being propelled by the people. They said they are tired of lacklustre representation at the Green Chamber and will therefore leave no stone unturned to do the needful when another opportunity presents itself.
"And talking of what I am bringing on board, it is a whole lot that is tied to ensuring that my good people across these three local governments enjoy for real good dividends of democracy. There is a lot of federal presence that ought to be felt across these three local governments in infrastructure, empowerment, job creations, healthcare, education among others that are lacking.
"There is a lot to be done to fight poverty and food insecurity through massive investment in agriculture, there's a need to support the women, our mothers in their trade with reasonable soft loans of little or no interest as well as regular empowerment for the youths and our women.
"There will definitely be regular engagement with the people to ensure that their inputs are captured in those bills and yearnings we are working on. We are really going to deploy the instrument of lawmaking to raise the bar of good governance and adequate representation during our tenure by the special grace of God.
"I need to also inform you that we shall also form good synergy and partnership with our hardworking governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who by that time would have been serving his second term in office by the special grace of God".
On Gov Abiodun's leadership in the state, Osikoya said that it is an open secret that the governor is a first class silent achiever and that is why many residents of the state are already clamouring for his second term come 2023.
"Gov Dapo Abiodun has quietly been going about developing every sector of the state since getting to office almost three years ago. He has not only completed many road projects abandoned by former Gov Amosun, but has equally initiated and completed many other such as the Sagamu-Siun-Abeokuta expressway, Ijebu Ode-Epe expressway, Navy-AIT road, Elite road, Abeokuta and several others.
"The Agro-Cargo Airport project that will change the face of the economy of the state is nearing completion. The education, agric, healthcare, housing, youth and women empowerment are receiving due attention too. The governor has certainly done so well to deserve another term and so shall it be as the almighty God liveth", Osikoya submitted.
