Abiade Idowu, Abeokuta
A former member of the House of Representatives, Abiodun Abudu-Balogun has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Electoral Amendment Act 2022 into law.
Abudu-Balogun, who equally commended the National Assembly for a job well-done, recalling being part of the Electoral Amendment process while serving in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2015 representing Ijebu north/ Ijebu east/ Ogun waterside Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, expressed hope that the players in the country's political system would take advantage of the new law to deepen Nigeria's democracy with maximum benefit to the citizens.
The ex-lawmaker, however, appreciated the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), the press and the pro- democracy activists for their contributions to what he described as "this great fit in Nigeria's democratic development".
